Mike Yestramski, Jr., WFSE President
Mike Yestramski has served as president of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) since 2019, championing fair wages, safe working conditions, and strong union representation for Washington’s public workforce. Under his leadership, WFSE has remained deeply involved in key political and labor battles across the state.
Mike’s commitment to public service began in Baltimore, Maryland, where he worked as a homeless outreach social worker. He later transitioned to forensic social work at Spring Grove Hospital, where his passion for worker safety and union advocacy took root. After relocating to Washington in 2013, Mike joined Western State Hospital as a psychiatric social worker and became an active member of AFSCME Local 793.
His dedication quickly propelled him into leadership roles—serving as lead shop steward, committee chair, and executive board member. In 2019, he was elected WFSE president, and his reelections in 2021 and 2023 reflect the trust and support he continues to earn from union members statewide.

A lifelong resident of Yelm, Washington, Joe DePinto has served as the city’s mayor since 2022. His journey in public service began with two terms on the Yelm City Council from 2016 to 2021. He’s known for being approachable, active in local organizations like the Yelm Eagles, and a familiar face at community events.
Professionally, Joe brings a wealth of legislative experience, having worked for Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers and State Representative Paul Harris.
